Activities

In the surroundings of El Molino Santisteban there numerous possibilities for cultural nature, sports and other activities.

• The possibilities for walking and hiking are abundant. From El Molino Santisteban there are walks along the river El Río Grande, into the hills and to the towns of Guaro and Alozaina. In the area there are a lot of marked trails, easy short walks but also walks for the well trained. In the nearby Natural Park Sierra de Las Nieves there is a great choice in trails and mountain hikes.

• From El Molino Santisteban it is only 25 minutes by car to Marbella on the Costa del Sol. On the Costa del Sol there are all kinds of beaches, from city beaches to tranquil family beaches and “place to be” beach clubs.

• El Molino Santisteban is a perfect base for daytrips to the Andalucian cities such as Málaga with the Picasso Museum, Ronda with its spectacular setting, Granada with the Alhambra, Córdoba with the Mesquita, Antquera, Sevilla etc.

• In the nearby town of Coín (10 minutes by car) all basic needs are available such as supermarkets, shops, banks, doctor/first aid, petrol station, post office etc.

• Málaga and Marbella are both excellent places for shopping. Going to Marbella from El Molino Santisteban, just before entering Marbella on the left hand side is the big shopping mall called “La Cañada”.  Furthermore there is an “El Corte Ingles” department store and many other upmarket shopping possibilities in Puerto Banus.

• With all its golf courses the Costa del Sol is one of the most popular places in Europe to play golf.

• Along the road to Marbella just before the town of Monda is the “Marbella Gun & Country Club” that has a wide variety of activities such as clay pigeon and crossbow shooting, quad biking and horse riding.

• In the winter the Sierra Nevada has excellent skiing facilities. Only a two hour drive from El Molino Santisteban and you will be in the snow. Between the middle of December and the middle of March the snow is good for alpine skiing.

• Both the paved roads as well as the dirt roads in the country side offer an excellent opportunity for cycling/mountain biking. From El Molino Santisteban there are a couple of marked mountain bike routes.
